Writing Without a Seatbelt

I had spent the other night writing a truly fantastic entry, only having it disappear somewhere in cyber abyss.

It is Spring Break and I have given up alcohol for LENT which has been more of a sacrifice than you could possibly imagine…because right now I could use an entire bottle of Scotch. Four kids… sometimes five with the neighbor’s kid… all talking and running around. I’ve sent them outside many times, only to find them sneaking back in to locate PSP’s and play Xbox. One of the kids even said it was too hot to be outside, which would be believable if let’s say we lived in Florida and not ALASKA.

This would be the point in which you would insert eye-rolling and pour a gin and tonic. Now you’d down it and let out a huge AHHH.

Or just pray in tongues. Either or.

I’m getting ready to leave for Las Vegas which I’m very excited about. Not because I want to leave this state behind… but because well, I want to leave this state behind. My dream is I will stand on a specific sidewalk only to find out the exact step my feet touched was where ELVIS PRESLEY stood in awe of an image of me in his mind. I hadn’t been born yet, so he only could imagine me. Which you know he totally did.

I leave for Vegas on the 30th… so before Vegas is Easter in which there are Easter dresses and Easter suits to buy. Not to mention hard boiled eggs and baskets and wondering why I just didn’t give up underwater basket-weaving for Lent.

Because you know I just love me some underwater basket-weaving.
